What is Mile High Organics?

Mile High Organics is a new way to shop for food. We offer expertise in sourcing the freshest, organic produce available in Colorado. We take orders via the Internet and offer delivery to homes and offices throughout much of the Colorado’s Front Range region.

Is everything organic?

Yes. All Mile High Organics products have been certified as produced under the USDA’s National Organic Program. Should we choose to offer a product that is not certified under this program, we will clearly indicate that it is not certified organic.

Where does Mile High Organics’ produce come from and how does it get here?

Mile High Organics sources produce directly from a number of local farmers and organic distributors. The ‘first pick’ produce is delivered to our ‘fresh’ warehouse by truck, where customer orders are packed into reusable bins and delivered by van to your home or office.

Why do you sometimes use plastic bags?

On occasion we use plastic bags inside our reusable delivery bins to maintain produce quality (e.g. keeping fresh greens full of moisture, or keeping cherries from being mashed).

Why are some items available at certain times of the year in supermarkets and not at Mile High Organics?

Mile High Organics seeks provide great value to its customers by offering the most seasonally appropriate, fresh produce available. By supporting local farmers and organic distributors, we reduce pollution generated by long-distance food transport and provide the highest quality, local produce to our customers.

These values result in a seasonality of product offerings, but decrease pollution, increase length of product life and keep costs low for our customers.

Why isn't everything you sell certified Fair Trade?

Fair Trade certifications focus primarily on labor standards in “developing countries.” Since most of our products come from the United States this certification is unavailable. Some of the products we receive from “developing countries” are Fair Trade certified, and some may not be (based on availability). We do our best to support the most hospitable working conditions, such as only supporting organic agriculture, where workers are not exposed to chemicals present in “conventional” farming.

How does the Refer a Friend progrm work?

Signing up is simple! First, click the “Sign Up Now!” button, located on the right side of each web page.  Fill in all requested information and you will receive a confirmation email containing a link to set up your first order.

If you incorrectly enter your password, you will have an option to click “forgot your username or password” then simply enter your email address and you will be sent your account details.

Click the “Skip Deliveries” button. Enter the dates you are leaving and plan to come back, and save that info. That’s it. If you come back early, log into the “Skip Deliveries” area and then click “I’m back early” to resume deliveries.

Once logged into your account, click “View/Edit Deliveries” and select the delivery date you are interested in reviewing/editing. From here you can view and change your order.

What happens to my cart if I leave before checking out?

You may add items to your order by placing them in your shopping cart. Any items that you have added your cart will be delivered with your standing order on your delivery date.

Yes. In cases of supply changes, we will substitute similar item(s), if available. If nothing similar is available then we will credit your account.

Absolutely. Please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order to inform us of the issue. We will happily credit your account if you are not satisfied with the quality of an item.

Delivery days are determined by your location; please refer to the delivery schedule to see your delivery date. Home delivery will occur on your specified date and there is no need for you to be home when we deliver. Offices deliveries occur during normal business hours.

Once an order has been placed online, fresh items are hand-packed in our special bins and then delivered directly to you on your delivery day. It’s really that simple.

The price of delivery is included in the minimum order price. There are no additional delivery fees.

What if I'm not home to receive my order?

You do not need to be home to receive your order. Our bins are designed so that produce maintains freshness while you are out. You may also designate delivery instructions via your online customer profile.

How long will my order stay fresh in the delivery boxes?

Outside temperatures and humidity will affect the goods over time however they should stay in great condition for a number of hours. Once you receive your order, please make sure to refrigerate, and otherwise properly store, items as needed. For more information on produce storage click here. Produce quality is guaranteed.

Mile High Organics is known for its prompt, accurate delivery system. For office delivery, boxes will be delivered during normal working hours (9am to 5pm). If it is 5pm at an office location, Contact Us and we will contact you within 24 hours to resolve the issue.

Home deliveries should be completed by 7pm on your delivery date (barring inclement weather). If we have not contacted you about the status of your delivery and it is past this time please inform us. We will contact you within 24 hours about redelivery.

Something is missing from my box or order

Please check your current invoice to see if we already credited your account due to a product sourcing/quality decision. If not reflected on the invoice, please contact us so that we can credit your account, as appropriate.
